Let’s Talk About the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview
The good stuff is hidden—and no, you don’t need another pair of boots (unless it’s these).
Let’s be honest—the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can feel like a lot. It is the biggest sale event of the year and with so many new products, it can easily feel overwhelming (and full of things you probably don’t actually need).
But every year, a few gems manage to slip through the noise. Understated essentials that still feel considered, the kind of pieces that quietly earn their spot in your closet. I went through the preview with a (very) edited eye—here’s what made the cut.
No fluff, no panic-buying, and yes… maybe one pair of boots.
Let’s get into it.

Diptyque Candle Trio
A personal l favorite for holiday or hostess gifting (and a brand that doesn’t typically discount). I recently walked through a designer home tour where the Fig scent was burning—it completely set the mood. Such a timeless, beautiful scent.
Saint Laurent Sunglasses
A little dramatic in the best way. These make even a white tee and jeans feel intentional.

Rag & Bone Barrel Jeans
Barrel jeans are all about proportion, and the key to making them work is balance. I like to pair them with a fitted or cropped top—something that defines the waist—and always make sure there’s a bit of ankle showing. That little break at the hem keeps the shape clean and flattering, especially with a simple sandal or minimal sneaker. These are in my cart.
Lafayette 148 New York Black Dress
A bit of a splurge, but this dress is proof that minimal doesn't mean boring. The drop waist and subtle structure give it shape, and it’s one of those pieces you can wear to dinner or a meeting and not feel overdone. Add a flat sandal or swap in a low heel and it’s a whole new thing.

Le Labo Hand Soap
For when your soap needs to match the vibe of your kitchen (or bathroom). This one smells expensive and looks good sitting out—which, let’s be honest, is half the point. Basil is one of their core fragrances and it smells divine. You’ll find yourself refilling it long after it’s empty.
Steve Madden Dorothea Suede Boot
A suede ankle boot that hits just right—no extra details, no weird heel, just clean and sharp. It’s the kind of shoe that makes even jeans and a tee feel styled. Size down a 1/2 size.
YSL Sunglasses
Slightly sporty, slightly serious. Throw them on with anything—they’ll do the heavy lifting.

White Button Down
A white button-down is reliable, but never boring. This one gets the proportions right without being shapeless. The high-low hem adds just enough interest, and yes, it looks better with a few buttons undone. Cuff the sleeves, don’t overthink it.
Merino Wool Sweater
This merino wool turtleneck is the kind of sweater you keep in rotation long after the trend cycle moves on. It’s lightweight but warm, with a classic fit that layers easily without feeling bulky. Wear it tucked into trousers, thrown over your shoulders, or with denim when you're not sure what the weather—or your outfit—is doing.

The Curator Relaxed Blazer
This looks like the one they had last year, maybe slightly different (?) but it’s a great high-low piece. I actually wore it often and it reminded me of my Anine Bing one but a little less boxy. It has clean lines, relaxed fit, and easy to dress up or down. Toss it over a tee and denim or pair it with tailored trousers.
Oribe Dry Texture Spray
The one product I buy on repeat every year. I’ve tried simialrs and really nothing compares. It gives volume, soft hold, and that perfectly tousled finish—without the stiffness or stickiness. Great on clean hair that needs grip or second-day hair that needs reviving.
